Teachers are currently creating a class blog for their new class.  These will be available for you to see very soon.

Please visit your child’s class blog regularly to see what they have been learning in school.  It is a great way for your child to talk to you about their work.

Sheddocksley Fun Runs

Some of our P4-7 pupils participated in the Sheddocksley Fun Runs.   All pupils did very well, exceeding their personal best.  Four have been selected for the Champion of Champions run next Wednesday.  Good luck!

The Riderz Visit Fernielea

The Riderz visited Fernielea School on Thursday 29th May 2014.  First we learnt about bike safety using the ‘M Check’.

Next, in groups, we completed a travel safety journey.  Using a map of the area around our school, we designed a safe route to cycle to school from our homes.

In the afternoon, we watched the Riderz perform an amazing stunt show!  Pupils from Holy Family, Kingsford, Hazlehead and Hazlewood came to watch too.  The Riderz did some fantastic tricks on their bikes including the superman, a backflip and the tyre grab.

P5, P6 and P7 (and the teachers!) then had a slow race on their bikes in the sunshine.  Lastly, we were lucky enough to get the Riderz’ autographs.  It was a fabulous day!

Give me cycle space

As part of our health and wellbeing campaign to encourage children to cycle to school, yesterday we welcomed the Riderz stunt team to our school.  Our P5 – 7 children spent time looking at safe cycling routes to school and were also offered a “Bike Doctor” session, where experts checked over the children’s bike to make sure they were all safe.  Then in the afternoon the whole school enjoyed an amazing stunt show.
