World Book Day

What a fantastic day we all had!  World Book Day at Fernielea was full of fun activities related to books:

designing front covers, dressing up and reading our favourite stories.

We had a book swap and it was very successful with lots of books being exchanged.

Today we held a book sale to sell all of the remaining books.  They were all sold out by 9.15!! All money raised is going to Book Aid.

World Book Day

With World Book Day just around the corner, it’s time to think which book character you are going to dress up as.

Also, we are having a book swap on World Book Day. Bring a book you want to donate and take a different book home to read.

We’ll sell all left over books on Friday morning in the foyer for 10p a book. All proceeds going to Book Aid.

Wellies Wanted

The Early Learning classes are looking for old wellies to use as decorative planters in their outdoor area. If you have any old wellies you’d be willing to donate, send them in with your child and they can drop them off in the Early Learning Classes.

Thank you

Internet Safety

One Internet site that can be helpful to parents when ensuring their children are safe online is:

Thinkuknow

It has advice which can help you to monitor and educate your child in online stranger danger and what to do if something happens.

P1 Community Walk

P1L and P1R are planning to go for a short walk to the Summerhill shops on Monday. They are going to look at the amenities in the Summerhill area – post box, post office, street lights, shops etc.

If you are able to help let the teachers know first thing on Monday morning.

P5’s Scottish Breakfast

As prize winners of the Toby’s Design a Haggis competition, P5 went to the local Toby restaurant for a Scottish Breakfast.

The children were treated like royalty and enjoyed a fantastic meal!

A big thank you to all the staff who made us very welcome.
